Charging optimization not working when charging switched off

I'm using GOS release 2026032000.
I've set charging optimization on, and it works as expected (charging to 80% when calibrated) when my phone is switched on.

But when my phone is switched off, it always charges to 100%. I leave my phone switched off and charging overnight, and the battery is always at 100% when I switch it back on.

Can anyone tell me if this is expected behavior?

Yes this is expected behaviour. Not a GrapheneOS issue, but the design of the feature in AOSP.
