Send Notifications to Current User (Private Space)

Hello, is there any way to activate the Send Notifications to Current User feature (or something similar) but for Private Space? So you would get notifications from apps on PS when PS is closed and while on Main Profile?

Reason behind this is I have a degoogled and mostly FOSS main profile. I'm using Proton Mail with no push notifications because they depend on Google Play Services for that.

Solution I came up with was having a secondary profile with GPS and Proton Mail and send notifications over to main profile so I don't have to open the app manually all the time to check if there's new email. It works fine but having that on PS would be even better.

I also considered You Have Mail but I don't want to give my main Proton email account and password to a separate party.

I also tried forwarding to Tuta that does handle push notifications without GPS but I lose E2EE if I do that and it does not work with subfolders.

Another option I considered is to setup Tuta as recovery email for Proton and activate this Proton functionality that sends notifications if I haven't logged into my email account for 24 hs, but that feature exposes my main Proton account to Tuta and I don't get real time notifications, only once a day.

And yes, I know about sandboxing on GOS but I still want to keep my privacy focused apps as separate as possible from my regular apps. I've also searched the forum for this same topic already and found useful information but I still wanted to ask just to be sure.

Once you've unlocked Private Space, you'll automatically receive notifications. You don't need to separately enable Send notifications to current user as you would have to do with user profiles.

Closing Private Space is similar to End sessionin user profiles:

Logging out makes profiles inactive so none of the apps installed in them can run. It also purges the disk encryption keys from memory and hardware registers, putting the user profile back at rest.

No, it's like two user profiles active at the same time with all its benefits and tradeoffs:

Apps can't see the apps in other user profiles and can only communicate with apps within the same user profile (with mutual consent with the other app). Each user profile has their own encryption keys based on their lock method.

Add a fingerprint and a simple pin to the PS.

In the PS lock sub settings page, there is an entry 'Lock after screen timeout' that you may set to up to 30min.

You get the separation benefits of a separate profile.

I can only see locking PS having 2 benefits:

lock = end session. More resources freed. More battery life.
hiding apps from a partner or someone else but they are not hidden at all. Lol

Settings > Security and privacy > Private space > End session immediately on lock
Toggle OFF if ON.

Then go to:
Settings > Security and privacy > Private space > Private space lock > Use device screen lock
Toggle OFF if this was ON.

I used it that way too, but I noticed one major inconvenience: I couldn’t use biometrics to unlock apps within Private Space (i.e., apps that are additionally protected with a password or biometrics, like banking apps)—those apps would ask for its password every time instead of fingerprint. Is that the same for you?

My workaround was to assign a separate password and fingerprint for Private Space. Then apps inside Private Space can also be unlocked with biometrics.

If you use device unlock method then it won't prompt you as often

Murcielago Yes, a separate but simple unlock to PS. There may be some use cases for a heavy lock, but since the PS is never hidden, I opted for just a fast convenient lock to get some separation from Owner.

Again, it takes a good fingerprint that works flawlessly, with the same finger you'll use the most on the screen to get the speedy experience.

Update: Just tested and yes, eight lockings and unlocks of PS in ten seconds.
