Can Work profile be set up via Play Services and not Island/Insular/Shelter?

Hi. If one has Google Play services installed, there is an menu item in Google Settings - Create work profile.
Has anyone tried, will it work so I don't need any typical software like Island, Insular or Shelter?
Will I require to grant Play Services the Device admin permission as it's done for Shelter etc?
If setup via Play services, will I be able to revoke admin permission once WP is configured?

I've tried to find it here, but couldn't.

Try it, you need to setup MDM, it's typically setup by a company. This gives you a QR / password code to enroll your device.

Clear, thank you. I don't have any particular need right now, as I use Private Space for Corp apps, but as I was browsing around Google Settings I have noticed the option and thought of some benefits of having 3rd in-owner user for some apps.
But if it requires mdm or shelter, I'll skip and hope for multi-PS option.
