WhatsApp not ringing, no notifications in screenlock

On my Pixel 7 WhatsApp does not ring and notifications do not appear or sound when screen is locked. Notifications only appear when the screen is unlocked. It rings when the screen is unlocked.

Do Not Disturb is off. All notification setting are on. I can't find any setting that seems to be applicable.

Have you installed Google Play Services? Have you granted WhatsApp unlimited battery?

Battery was set to optimized. I set it to unrestricted.

That seems to have fixed it. Thanks.
