Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install GrapheneOS on a Pixel 9a (model GTF7P, European variant, 128GB) purchased from a third-party reseller on Cdiscount (it's a French marketplace). The OEM unlocking toggle is greyed out in developer options. I looked at other topics here and vids but to no avail. Here's the info on the device and what I did so far:
Device info
Model: GTF7P
Android build: stock, unmodified
Intended region: EU (FR, DE, GB, etc.)
Activation status: activated (presumably by reseller before shipping ?)
What I did so far
1) Multiple factory resets
2) Connected to Wi-Fi during setup wizard (observed "Checking network info..." step)
3) Tested on 4G mobile data by inserting my own eSIM (different network path)
Tried these via ADB:
adb shell settings get global oem_unlock_allowed → null in all cases
adb shell dumpsys device_policy | grep -i owner → Device Owner Type: -1 (no MDM)
adb shell getprop ro.carrier → unknown
adb shell getprop ro.boot.verifiedbootstate → green
adb shell getprop ro.boot.flash.locked → 1
and lastly
4) Contacted Google support — escalation not possible beyond repair center. Told me to contact my operator ( I never mentionned my operator once lol)
My hypothesis is that it was activated by the reseller before shipping. The Google bootloader eligibility server appears to be returning a blocked status for the IMEI. No carrier involvement, no MDM, legitimate EU model.
Has anyone encountered this on a GTF7P or resolved a similar situation? Is there any known path to reset the eligibility status, or is a return/refund the only option?
Thanks
