Lick, Wipe, Scan. (LWS) Lol. My hands get dry or dusty all the time working my farm. Know that process well. I will say though, taking careful attention setting up the finger scan makes a noticeable difference. Still, I have to LWS at least 1x per day.
Again, being very thorough setting up the recorded scan. Getting every angle and area of the pad, probably cut down on fails by 70%. That worked very well on my 8P and 10P
I run fingerprint + pin, which the latter, is just short of my duress pin.
If in a high threat area, I adjust my reboot timer setting to 30 min. I further start a reocuuring timer, offset to chime -5 min to the reboot. With a reboot its at rest with a very long high entropy random string. Currently the safest condition sans a duress triggered wipe. Otherwise my default I keep @ 12hr.
And yes US law has a ton of precedence for extracting evidence not held in your mind, fingerprints should have always been obvious as its cornerstone of ID by LEO for over a century, face pic multi millennia used by just about every power,, urine... got piss sometime, blood.... a much more recent and probably most controversial. Accessing it without consent is technically a form of physical assault and injury. DNA swab is actually less invasive but with far more nefarious far reaching implications. But if it's in your memory its part of he 4th&5th COTUS protections.
