Saw some concerning messages about Discord/Matrix closing

Today I looked at the Discord server and saw some messages from the official account that left me pretty confused.
It looks like the team was dealing with a harassment issue, but the official GrapheneOS account responded by telling the community, "you don't deserve GrapheneOS and you won't have it for much longer" They threatening to shut down all social media and community platforms, deleting messages from users who pushed back on being blamed, and finally announcing that Discord and Matrix are going invite-only while Telegram is closing.
Can anyone clarify if this is real and what actually triggered it? Are the communities really being locked down? Just wanted to see what everyone here thinks about the situation and what it means for getting support moving forward.

They should really have a public figure that is able to compartmentalize GOS and feelings.

Even Santa Claus would get hate online.
You have to grey rock abusive people and comments or they will be back for more attention.

They need to express stability to grow and be taken seriously.

Momud Yes, these things were said, but the posts have since been deleted. Whoever was behind the project account at that moment obviously was not in a good place, and I would take those statements with a grain of salt.

Johnnyloans 1st, you're factually wrong, see https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/27068-grapheneos-security-preview-releases/101 or alike. 2nd, there are indeed likes for 1st post of new releases topics, have no idea if that's because the account may be "shared"/team for announcements.
Not the case with Momud, I guess.

Johnnyloans I can't recall any non-release announcements, so yep, probably each. But definitely not every post, haven't seen any, honestly. An example is in my previous comment
