I don't actually know but since--in 2026--people are buying Pixel 9s and 10s, maybe these phones sometimes have issues with esims.
No one will be making a thread today about: "I just bought a 5 year old pixel and i can't add the esim."

Maybe mention only the last 2 errors when you refund. or just don't supply a reason.

I've tried it with no google play services or play store and dsds off and it still works. It turned dsds on for me automatically (dual sims)

It really should just be: esim support, add it.

Same issue here, tried everything but flashing back to standard OS.

Is there a solution in sight? Or should I try to return the phone (it's a 1,5 year old P9 Pro)

I'd return or warranty if possible, don't mention GOS.
I've seen reports of a google repair center unable to fix the original phone and stockOS not able to fix it--could be a hardware issue.

Check, I'll try going back to stockOS and install an eSIM first. If the problem still exists, the phone is useless to me anyway, I need a dual SIM phone. With a completely degoogled (and no big tech anyway) private profile and SIM and a business related profile on the other SIM

Done all the checks, RMA with google (omg, going thru the motions with the helpdesk lady). And now we wait.....

(Luckily I still have warranty, didn't mention flashing to GOS)

This is a problem that Google needs to fix, as it is occurring on Google's stock Pixel OS. These are reports from the last week:

Phone is tested and no problem was found, yeah rite. Google store will send it back and I'm 100% shure the problem will still be there.

Frenz64 Omg i have the same right now. Google responded with no problems found and they shipped my device back. I hope this is just to save face and they fixed the issue because if it is still there i will open a case against them for not fulfilling their warranty promise.

Companies like to be unfair unfortunately.

You could view/save the logs of 'Sim Manager' and make note of the failure points to report to your local consumer protection agency. Then they leverage google.

Sorry, I failed to mention to perhaps try your esim on another phone temporarily. (partner's, friend's, or your old phone)
In my experience, after I activate an esim successfully, then I need to request a new esim with the carrier to activate my line elsewhere. (e.g. esim works on another phone > request new esim > try on your phone) Request a new 1 anyway then test it on your phone?

Do:
Settings > system reset > reset mobile settings

QR code esim activation is good to avoid mistakes. or double checking with your carrier that the esim works.

Johnnyloans Yes i will, i have read that when a issue is related to software they don't specify that they have done a repair so i am curious to see what has happened to my device. It should arrive tommorow or the day after will keep you updated.

Also is the root cause of the issue not known at the moment? It seems that a lot of people are having issues, even those who didn't flash GOS. I tried reflashing to Stock and experienced the same issue...

Sadly I was right, eSIM can't still be activated. The phone is now going to the seller, because there's where my waranty is handled (thru Dutch law). They gonna make me an offer. My goal is to exchange the Pixel for a Fairphone 6 with /e/OS (sorry for saying that outloud overhere ;-)
