I am attempting to access my library of ebooks through some sort of book reader on my pixel 8. I've transferred the files over, first by directly transferring using a USB cable, which didn't really work as it didn't keep my calibre metadata. So I then used Calibre to transfer the books to the phone via USB cable and I think (though I can't be sure yet) that it transferred my edited metadata. I think these are stored in the "Books" folder.
All good - now I am trying to get these books into a reader. I installed Kobo and pointed it at the books, but it "ran out of device storage" after 4 GB... I cannot for the life of my figure out how to increase this app's access to device storage, or even find where it is storing the files it is creating. I have 100 GB free on the device. I think this might have something to do with the option to grant increased storage access to the app that appears when you install it (or maybe not, I am a bit clueless here!). I have tried using "Book Reader" but it literally only "finds" like 30 of the books in my book folder. My books are all epubs, I think, but I am wondering if these 30 are in some other format... but again I don't know.
Please can someone help me load these books into a library/reader app. It has taken me days to actually get to this point with these stupid books and now I am not giving up. I don't care what app I use, really, as long as I can sort by series.
