Blocking websites or disabling Vanadium - Has anyone made OpenTimeLimit work?

I'm looking for a way to block distracting websites in Vanadium, or disable Vanadium entirely after a given amount of daily use. People have suggested DNS filtering to me before, but it's very easy to circumvent as one can just go back to the default DNS (which I assume is my ISP's) in the settings.

I've tried to use OpenTimeLimit, with timers set for Vanadium and a couple other apps, but the timers never seem to start.

Is it something that will never work due to the way GrapheneOS works, or am I just not setting up OpenTimeLimit properly?

Any other app suggestion to accomplish what I'm set to do are also welcome!

You probably have to set it as device admin, accessibility enabled, and allowed to show over other apps.

Wouldn't any option be easy to circumvent? Youre the admin of your phone and turn of any limiter.

Can't recall the difference between OTL and the regular TL (that also has free local mode that should fit your case), but the regular one is doing fine.
You can either block Android settings, or install RethinkDNS, enable on-device blacklists (hazard, etc, if that works), and block access to the rdns app.
In the extreme case (can't recall if it requires paid version, like $1/month) you can enable unlock via HW key and keep key in hardly accessible place

Isn't there also an option to give a lockdown key to a friend? And the friends device is what unlocks if a sudden need arises? Maybe this must involve Adb, but I'm not sure.

I'm always fascinated when topics of these sorts arrise, humans (me included) and their behavoir are definitely interesting to observe. I understand from a psychological perspective that adding friction can help to 'neutralize' a bad habbit, and i'm not trying to judge anyone, but what happened to old school discipline?

Novalissoide Actually my brother has it, but perhaps it's a spectrum aswell? He does not have similar behavior and has a strong discipline, though he's a boomer aswell. His adhd manifests in having triple the energy of a regular human being, and he has bend his 'disease' to an advantage, pehaps through discipline.

Only a small fraction of my patient group is highly functional like that and possess that 'discipline', it isn't precisely handed out by nature to every person who needs it.

In majority of cases It's not nature that is responsible for discipline, it's the environment - parents, circumstances (like 200 years ago) etc. Step by step over 1st 16 years and you get the rythm
