Is there any way to migrate aurora installs to Play?

Hi there, everyone!

I recently learned of some fairly serious risks in using Aurora for my app installs but not until I had installed a ton of apps from it and set them all up.

Is there any way to have Play "take over" the app updates if I've installed it from Aurora? If no, is there a way to retain the cached data so I don't lose the setup/use data of those apps?

schwim You should be able to allow the Play Store to update apps from Aurora (although you will get a pop-up asking whether to allow the Play Store to update an app from another source). If it is able to update without uninstalling/reinstalling, then that means the app is genuine.

I've never been able to make this work. Are you sure this is possible? The other way around totally works, but install in Aurora (or any other source) then Play Store update?

This routinely works for me. I do not get a popup. I must admit I am a bit lazy so usually there is already a newer version available in Play so I just click update.

The trick is to search the app manually in Playstore. Apps from Aurora will not list as installed apps in Playstore and they do not auto update before the manual update.

Thank you for your help, everyone. Unfortunately, updating the apps in Play aren't working but they are failing in an odd way.

When I open the app in Play, it states that an update is available and I am eligible to update it in play. When I click update, it shows the activity spinner and the word "pending" for about 30 seconds then just reverts to "Update from Play" on the update button.

This issue is only for the Aurora installed apps. I was able to both install and update a play-installed app without issue. A phone restart did not resolve the issue.

Anything else I can try to get past the "pending-failure" loop?

I do not know what your problem is. But I use a secondary profile to update the apps from the owner. Does that work for you? I use Tor on that secondary profile. That is much slower than normal internet and rarely the connection fails.

I can both install new apps in the play store, I'm also able to update all the apps that were installed using the playstore. The only thing that seems to fail is trying to update an app that was installed using Aurora. It shows as eligible for update but just hangs at pending for a while before returning to the update button.

Same profile. I've only got the primary profile on this phone.

Well then give it a try. If you succeed you could degoogle your owner profile and use Play Services only in the Private space of the owner.
