Novalissoide I'd say if we've come to a place where a machine intelligence is used for advice like 'back up texts and contacts', it must give us pause. 🫩
These were simple examples. People look up advice for what to bring camping out in the woods or how long to cook penne.
Are they stupid or beginners to not know to check it after 10 minutes, such a simple number? Probably not. I'm still a cook that can improvise and adapt on the spot with my own brain.
What % of users do you wager would think to back up this advice I gave?:
Johnnyloans "Backup" a list of what apps you have installed. (to not forget any)
Screenshot your home screen pages to place the apps into the same spots.
screenshot your quick tiles.
Almost no one I think. More advice can't hurt, discard if needed.
The most simple of tasks can be done half-way and incomplete.
I am still competent at my job if I ask my wife, colleague, AI "did I forget anything?"
People are human. That's a common question everyone asks, they are still able to think for themselves.
AI is a tool like a hammer. Know where it can go wrong and right. Hating AI use for yourself is fine. Its capabilities are exaggerated as any business that wants more money would do. We shouldn't be Luddites.
