1)
- Play store is where almost all companies and orgs put their apps (If you ever see "get our app" out in the world)
- Fdroid has many open source apps. Lots of options like the play store.
- Aurora store has the play store apps--even ones that play store will deny you based on region, OS, etc.
- obtainium: It starts blank. You have to add what apps you want yourself. There are curated lists out there to add many. Or add your github account to add starred repos
- obtainium scans whatsapp.com or github.com periodically for updates. (The website must have a .apk file available for download) You can't just point obtainium at youtube.com and hope it works.
2) Fdroid > obtainium > aurora
fdroid apps have less trackers than most apps on the playstore/aurora & you download from fdroid.
obtainium, you send metadata to github or whoever.
3) aurora store, apkpure.com, apkmirror.com
I am not recommending anything here as safe, except for Fdroid. As always, be safe with what apps you download no matter the source/app-store.
