Google Play Store vs Obtainium - different app versions

Hi there,

I have installed proton mail with Obtainium. It is supposed that Obtainium updates app directly from the developer.

But today, Google Play Store indicates me that there is a new version of Proton Mail (7.8) while Obtainium shows 7.7 and does not indicate any newer version.

I am a little bit confused.

Can someone help?

No, I assume it is checking github for a new version.

You are on the newest version available on github. Obtainium successfully and accurately found that out.

Proton themselves aren't putting the new version on github until days later. They put it on the play store first.
