Whatsapp crashes since an update

Hi,
I'm not that techie guy, i hope someone can help me. Whatsapp was working properly till yesterday, in a secondary profile, without Google services, installed from
.apk file with obtainium from the owner. I receive an update yesterday since then, rhe app crashes, when i try to open certain chats, or files explorer built-in the app. I'm not in my country, because of that, i can't reinstall de app, i can't reveive the SMS.

Anybody else have experienced same issue? I dont know if it is GOS related or a whatsapp thing... Everything was working perfect for me, since more han a year.

I don't know if it is safe to paste here the log of the crash app.

It's not a GrapheneOS issue but a WhatsApp issue. The app is poorly programmed (in terms of MTE errors, hardened malloc, etc) and trips most of GrapheneOS' Exploit protections which causes it to crash.

Enabling Exploit Protection Compatibility Mode solves these crashes, but it's exactly the best solution, especially for how common exploits are in WhatsApp unfortunately.

Makenrou interesting. Does it have the Phone permission? If I remember correctly it has issues if it doesn't have that. I don't have it installed in a private space, so not sure if that's the reason.

userofgos i have in a secondary profile not private space. Yes all permissions, the minimum possible, storage scopes, the same as before the update, phone also.
In the log i can see something like webview thing

For me it happens only if the chat has a message with a link (with a link preview)

had the same issue when using the app via Obtainium.

Just a few mins ago a new apk has been released and it fixes the issues for me now. Check it out for yourself too
