PWA Notifications?

Using brave nightly in a profile with sandboxed google play services, I cant get notifications from any PWAs even if all the settings look fine (at least to me)
Anyone have suggestions?

Inside of brave, you gave the website permission to give notifications?

In android settings, you gave brave notification permission?

I use lots of PWAs daily, and notifications work just fine for me. I do use vanadium for this though. Maybe try installing them there and see if brave's the problem?

Good suggestion but tried a couple apps, still nothing.
No idea what im doing wrong

In brave settings I see the websites listed for notifications allowed
and in app notification settings I see brave listed

tried some tests that should have generated notifications, still nothing.

I've been struggling with this, too. I can get notifications from this site to work (https://www.magicbell.com/test/web-push) in Vanadium, so I know that everything is configured properly. But I have both Whatsapp and Telegram installed as webapps, and I never get notifications. I think that maybe they just don't work with mobile PWA push because they want you in their scummy invasive apps; I'm just not sure.

In my case Im trying to get mailbox.org to work, it has no other app so it should work.

using progressier.com PWA test i can see they are getting blocked for some reason, on brave and vanadium

I found an error now that is "push service error DOMException" havent solved it yet

In brave/vanadium/chromium:
3 dots top right > settings > site settings > background sync (for me, background sync is at the bottom).
Enable

failed to save WebPush token

Although, this seems like a notification permission error

Weird. Reboot your phone or vanadium required me to force close it then reopen for my changes to settings to take affect.
Try my suggestion in brave and vanadium?

Found this for a test. Worked for me in vanadium. I have background sync off but you'll likely want it on.

That website mentions "FCM." Do you have google play services installed with the network permission?

restarted phone

turned on play services network
retried, same errors across each option

I get this error after i turn off network for play services (GPS).

I then turn network back on for GPS.
Same error.

I force stop GPS and vanadium. Retry, works.
