Before I get roasted about using Google services, I'm not using GrapheneOS for its privacy/security features. I have a Pixel 7 Pro, and I had very specific bugs in the stock OS that were resolved by loading GrapheneOS (but not any of the ROMs), and the features of GrapheneOS are just a bonus for me.
So, I've installed all the Google services and apps that I use, including the Google app. I had it set up with all the correct permissions and battery exemptions, and it looked like it was working fine. However, after several hours, swiping from the bottom of the screen no longer launched the assistant. I also have a Google widget on my home screen (Nova Launcher), with a dedicated button to launch the assistant, and that stopped working as well.
When I went into the phone settings, and checked the default assistant app, it was set to Google, just as it was supposed to. But to fix this problem, I had to change that settings to "None", and then change it back to "Google". That immediately made it work again. This has happened every day since I installed GrapheneOS, and it's getting pretty annoying.
Is there some kind of a setting that I'm missing? Or is it just a bug (in which case, can it be fixed)?
