What's the point mentioning tools that aren't used that often on a mobile compared to MS Teams (that still has no mobile UI) and Outlook?
Realistically, nowadays, only 1 out of 2 most used MS apps on mobile is usable in the browser. It's Outlook.
So to say we can survive with just browser versions, is not correct. Not yet.

And even for the browser you will require hw key on GOS if corps continue to tighten security measures.

Hello. I have created a second profile on my phone. In this profile I installed Google Play Services. I install here all apps that requires this component ie bank app or Microsoft authenticator. Whenever I need these apps I just have to switch in this profile which take 5 sec. Everything works fine.

I got the "Your device is rooted" message and was unable to use my MS Authenticator app and really needed it in that moment, since I had no alternative... I tried enabling the Exploit protection compatibility mode and voila... it worked! Not the best solution for someone already worrying about having to use MS products, but at least it is usable. For the future, I will try to go for hardware keys instead...

Could you check which version you have that required the Exploit protection compatibility mode?

I'm still on 6.2603.2041 (versionCode 202620413) and it works without triggering the alert.

My MS Authenticator on my work profile hit me with the "Device is rooted" today - couldn't do anything in Authenticator, couldn't get into client systems.

I followed this advice and enabled the exploit protection compatibility mode for this app specifically through long press/app info, and it worked - restarted authenticator and it had dropped its objection to the device.

Not sure if it's worth explaining to work IT that I have reduced my security to be able to use Authenticator!

Strange, passkeys in Microsoft Authenticator works for me with sandboxed Google Play.

Just a suggestion that by a quick ctrl+f has not been mentioned here.

I decided I wanted to get rid og MS auth when I switched to Graphene, I wanted to use an open source MFA app, and did not want two MFA apps.

Planned to use SMS authentication, but it turned out I could use number matching in the Outlook app, and afaik that serves as strong MFA in MS365.

Does the Microsoft account that you use with MS authenticator belong to a large work/school organization or an EntraID tenant (previously known as Azure AD)?

Or is it a personal account?
