I think they’re just pointing out that when compared to iOS, where everything except camera access (unfortunately) can can be disabled on the lock screen, GrapheneOS or AOSP doesn’t allow this tile menu to be disabled. Perhaps there are workarounds as some have described - but believe it or not it is jarring when converting and it does feel less ‘safe’ when locked. That maybe a bit of an emotional response over perhaps a practical security risk, but it’s real nonetheless and there is little point arguing against it. Especially true if potentially critical apps like rethink can mistakenly be added and then accessed.

On GOS you can't disable something else and you can disable camera.

Every system has its own set of features, I would say.

While I would gladly accept a toggle setting to allow/disallow using the rest of the tiles while locked, I also think the way it is built now is actually better.

Basically every app suggests if they are sensitive enough to be usable or not and the developer can chose for their own app.

Have to disagree. Having the option of it not there at all regardless of what a certain dev chooses or what another users misses would be infinitely better. However with some care it’s not that serious. I just wanted to point out the point that the op has is valid.

I think the biggest problème is those that choose to move from iOS to grapheneos are the sort of people that by nature have locked down their iPhones as much as feasibly possible. It’s still not enough so they come to graphene, which is a massive move to an iOS user. Finding small holes compared with what they’ve been used to is jarring whatever anyone else thinks.

Putting aside the gaping hole that camera access is (to some at least) - you can have iOS allow nothing other than the clock and the date and the minimal status bar available on the lock screen.
