Is the Google Pixel 2 XL still supported and safe to use with GrapheneOS?

I can get my hands on a used Pixel 2 XL, 3a, and 3a XL for pretty much close to free. Are these three phones still supported with the latest version of GrapheneOS?

The use case will just be the web browser and Signal/video calls. All other apps will only be used within the web browser, including YouTube.

I know the hardware is old, but is there anything else I can do to harden either of these three phones?

I'm assuming it won't be safe to use either of these phones with a cellular connection. What about exclusively using them with WiFi?

Having said that, if I could get it for free, can I still obtain the latest supported version and then flash the Pixel 2 XL to it? Then I can maybe give it to someone who's interested in learning GOS like a kid?

It's not worth it, those devices are obsolete, end-of-life, insecure, and there are no official GOS releases available to download. I wouldn't pay a penny for those devices, nor would I use one if I got it for free.

sappy_junior728 a kid interested by GOS ? I would be very surprised. The only thing kids are looking in a phone is YouTube and installing games and since they install every possible crap available in the Play Store an up-to-date or an old unsupported Pixel 2 XL won't make a big difference.
