Proton Mail Pushes

Hello. Stopped receiving notifications. They come, but only if I reboot / open the app. Then the avalanche of pushes drop. And after ₂₀ minutes the pushes stops.
testing already a second day. Cannot figure out is this my misconfig, playservices bug or proton's crap.
Proton unlimited.

Notifications enabled.
Battery unrestricted.
Play services Installed.
Play services battery unrestricted.
Play store installed.
Battery unrestricted.
Notifications on.
vpn disabling does not fix.
Latest version.
Older versions gave same result.
Other apps receiving pushes normally.

Datasapiens Do you by any chance happen to have Data Saver on? You can check it's status in Settings > Network & internet > Data Saver > Use Data Saver

If it is, you might need to grant both the Proton Mail App & Google Services Framework the unresticted mobile data usage permission found under the same settings behind Unrestricted mobile data. Just find the apps there & give them the permission.

If that doesn't help, then I'm out of ideas at this time.

personally I think the proton mail app is not very good.

Have you tried using the webui in a mobile browser and turning on browser alerts? It works well for me.

MyIdentityIsntImportant never gave unrestricted mobile data to any app, because it is limited data plan that I have. And it was working just fine. Until last week noticed shit misbehave.
And restricted data was never on as well 🙂
I too, running out of ideas. Proton support too. Just giving me cliché suggests.

lcalamar this super duper multimillion revenue company that positions itself as a very open and private already 10 years can't get off play services and get their own push messages, when even community funded by donations services can.

UPDATE
Had two profiles with play services installed. Uninstalled them from both profiles and it seems to be making positive impact to main profile. For now.
