Installing app in owner without playstore

I have all my apps installed in secondary profile.

One app (barclays) only works in owner profile so backed up apk and transferred over via interprofile.

When I run this file in owner profile it says 'app not installed'

I don't have play services installed btw.

How can I resolve this?

lawman Tried uninstalling it in the secondary, maybe then re-installing it in Owner?

lawman try installing it using aurora store and then uninstall the aurora, you can update it via the secondary profile.

W1zardK1ng Yes but... you need to search each app in secondary profiles play store. It will say "update" instead of installing although you have not installed it on the secondary profile. Once you have completed this, play store from secondary will also auto update the apps from owner. And you benefit from play protect.

I found that you can just install again on owner (even if already installed on secondary) using Aurora.

Then disable in owner

This stops showing that is installed in secondary and doesn't take additional space

Can update from secondary as ppl have said

A bit long winded but no other option at present

Would have preferred for it not to show in owner that is installed on secondary but that option doesn't exist sadly

Every app is installed system-wide regardless in which profile being "installed" or better to say available. That's why you can see all apps installed on your device in owner profile. You can imagine the owner as an admin account (but it's not exactly the same). Only the user specific app data (including app settings) is stored in the userspace of a single profile (and can't be seen in other profiles).

That's also the reason why it doesn't matter in which profile you update an app. It's always updated system-wide for every profile as you already figured out.
