GOV.UK One Login compatibility?

Has anyone had any success with GOV.UK One Login? I'm attempting to use it to confirm my identity using a current UK passport.

I can sign in on the website using my credentials. However, when I try to use the GOV.UK One Login app on GrapheneOS get as far as the Sign in with GOV.UK One Login button that when clicked responds with There was a problem signing you in. Try to sign in again. I then clicked the Go back and try again button which just repeats the same loop.

Reviews on Google Play suggest that there are problems with this app on supported Android devices. I'm trying to determine if this is an app problem or a GrapheneOS compatibility problem (that might have a work around).

Provide us with the log entries of the app. It'll likely say what went wrong.

DefinitelyNotOCD Did you try changing the internet connectivity check and others from GrapheneOS proxy to the default Google servers. Also try it on Owner profile as @Novalissoide said.

JohnConnett There was a problem signing you in. Try to sign in again.

Btw this is common error some apps gives when they fail the integrity check, lazy devs.
Did you get any integrity check usage warning while logging in?

I was literally just making a post about this as we speak...

I made a post on the app compatibility thread but was about to make one here.

I've tried all the fixes documented in that thread, checked my firewall as well as checking all "Open by default" links. Nothing worked.

Using the app in the Private Space with Sanboxed Google Play.
