RandByte Well, as for local precipitation forecasts, I know I could really depend on it some 10-15 years ago (I could literally check and see I needed to wait for 3 more minutes before going outside), whereas now it's completely off, every single time. Same service, same locations, same experience for those in my environment. So I'd say it's got nothing to do with the perceived need for accuracy, but the actual drop of the predictions' accuracy.
