Upgrade to pixel 10 pro today or wait for new OEM Motorola device?

So I am currently running a pixel 8. Moderately happy with it, but the finger print reader drives me nuts and the battery life is OK (although it is still at 100% battery health). It is a bit laggy at times, but not terrible.

I've been thinking about upgrading to a 10 pro (would be around $300 to do so), but with the recent announcement, I'm debating waiting it out for another 1 year to get the moto device.

Any thoughts?

Some suggestions I've seen:

Anytime using fingerprint:

Make sure your finger isn't too dry (or too wet.) lick or touch/rub your forehead.

Re-add your fingerprint:

Do it in a dark room.
Press down firmly.
Get the sides and tip of your finger.

Honestly i doubt the motorolla device will feature more secure hardware then pixel.. but who knows

The next google pixel might have a titan m3, so this maybe is worth waiting for aswell

New Motorolla Graphene I don't think could be available this year, nor next. Since GOS need security hardware then it will be engineered maybe this year, maybe next. 2028 is the earliest I could bet that new MotoGOS might be available.

KitsuneNoBaka in the meantime you can still do a lot in terms of locking your mobile phone usage from mass surveillance with existing hardware

Its what I can purchase a secondhand pixel 10 pro for right now minus what I can sell the pixel 8 for on the secondhand market.
