In enterprise environments, I find lenovo to be one of the best (if not the best) brand and I never had (never noticed, mayber lol) anything shady coming from the hardware.
This, on the long run, builds trust.
Because PC/server hardware is a "different beast" compared to current phone hardware, I don't think one can draw a direct line from Lenovo to Motorola. Lenovo definitely had its moments, as far as I can remember.
- Alleged hardware-level espionage (2007 or 2008?)
- Superfish adware (around 2014)
- Lenovo Service Engine (2014–2015)
- Lenovo Accelerator (2016)
- UEFI Firmware Flaws (2021–2022): Allowed for the placement of persistent implants!
- UEFI/SMM Flaws (2025)
In any case: I trust the GrapheneOS team's auditing abilities and hardware experience more than any vendor's mere "status."
