To be fair, at this moment China is the superpower whose branding is most built around not being insane, and that makes Motorola and Lenovo the option I would prefer. This is not from any love for China, rather the US is just going completely off the rails.

In enterprise environments, I find lenovo to be one of the best (if not the best) brand and I never had (never noticed, mayber lol) anything shady coming from the hardware.
This, on the long run, builds trust.

Because PC/server hardware is a "different beast" compared to current phone hardware, I don't think one can draw a direct line from Lenovo to Motorola. Lenovo definitely had its moments, as far as I can remember.

Motorola GOS phone will surely be pentested by cellebrite et al very quickly. You can maintain a zero-trust threat model & still verify the product's security through reasonable methods
