okay so this is something I have been mulling over for years now and cant seem to get through
I have a large music library on my PC at home. im a huge music listener. however my enjoyment is often limited to home because i cannot figure out a way to browse and download my music library from my home PC to my phone. I currently have a mini library on my phone thanks to using Seeker/Soulseek but it's so inconvenient because id like to be able to browse my library when i am out of the house.
so here is what im looking for: i want to be able to browse and download files from my PC to my phone easily through a GUI. i also want SAF integration so i can browser my library in my standard file manager and make playlists of remote files in my music player. but the thing is, i need to be able to connect through onion or else through some kind of NAT? because i use VPN on all devices (ivpn) which does not offer port forwarding. but all the ftp client apps on fdroid seem to not have socks proxy option so i can run a tor proxy with orbot and run the ftp connection thru it
i tried using orbot to torify apps but i think you cant do that while also being on VPN, it uses its own "VPN" on android.
i have also looked into samba but there is so little options for it and i dont wanna stream, i want the option to download like ftp cause im on limited data sometimes
thanks for any ideas. honestly if there is some easy way to do NAT i think that will be my least complex solution cause i have android ftp clients with SAF integration just none with proxy settings
