PSA: You can use Pixel Studio as the system screenshot editor

I wasn't sure how many people were aware of this, so I thought I'd share.

While the Pixel Studio app itself doesn't function on GrapheneOS, it does have a built-in screenshot editor which works perfectly fine. This is the default behavior on the stock OS, as from what I can gather newer models don't use the "Markup" app for screenshot editing anymore.

The Pixel Studio's screenshot editor has a much nicer interface, more tools, and with network permissions disabled doesn't show any AI stuff.

When I open that link it redirects me to the Play Store entry which says "Your device isn't compatible with this version". From one of the comments in the entry I gather that Google has discontinued the app.

I created an account just so I can say Thank you for this. I was so frustrated by losing my regular screenshot workflow and then found your reply and it made my day.

That does appear to be the case, unfortunately. Although you may still be able to download it from Aurora Store or APK Mirror.

I wonder what stock pixels use for the screenshot editor now?

EDIT: I just checked a fully up-to-date, stock Pixel 10a and it still uses Pixel Studio as its screenshot tool
