This is a long one so please bear with me...
I bought a used p10 pro xl with GOS preinstalled...the seller explained to me that it was only carrier unlocked when used on GOS. At time of purchase he showed me that it was able to connect with t-mobile just fine. He also said if it flashes back to stock OS, the phone will return to locked status and show its locked to spectrum.
So I bought the phone preinstalled with GOS, connect it with tmobile and mint mobile e-sim. I used it for 2 -3 weeks with no carrier issues.
I decided I wanted to see if its usable on stock OS for myself and just like the seller said...I could not connect to tmobil e and it gave me the prompt to connect with spectrum.
So I thought the easy fix would be to just flash GOS back using the provided OS on the main website. Since then I cannot connect esim. I've flashed back to stock and back to GOS several times and nothing changes.
When flashing GOS,..I've done the following...
- remove the non stock key (before locking bootloader) as this is a step in the process
- enable e-sim setting
- enable OEM unlocking
- reset mobile networks and setting
- erase esim
I know the phone cannot be technically locked since you cant flash a custom os on a locked phone...but for some reason my p10 pro xl is acting locked now on stock os and GOS.
after all this, I finally decided to buy a new Tello esim. Factory reset my GOS p10 pro xl, did steps 1 - 5 again while on the phone with a tello agent, and I could not connect my pixel. Then I tried connecting tello esim with oneplus and no problems at all, connected just fine
What did the seller do that I am failing to notice. He said he can flash GOS, do extra steps ...configure settings to be able to bypass and establish carrier service on GOS.
