FrozenCrow that it works on /e/OS, but I don't know if the same goes for GOS.
What works? Installing Samsung app and limiting it's internet access, like it's descibed in the very same link in the last comment?
Why wouldn't it work on GOS?
Still, there probably has to be something very special about the band if it's worth to install and keep Samsung app on GOS.
From my limited knoledge, if you:
- Don't want any vendor app even for initial setup, then check Garmin or any other bangle/pebble
- Is low on budget, and have a side device where you can do just initial steps (like installing native Huawei or Zepp app), then you can go simply with dumb/cheap/good Huawei Band, or (requires more steps to setup) with more quality/advanced devices like Amazfit Bit (with screen) or their Helio series (rings, straps etc).
They're primarily supported quite good by GB and don't require native app to be installed post-setup.
