SnapDragon You could be right, I now see that a duress pin can be used anywhere. I think this is a very stupid feature.
It's actually a very smart feature and is documented on the Official GrapheneOS website in full detail: https://grapheneos.org/features#duress
GrapheneOS provides users with the ability to set a duress PIN/Password that will irreversibly wipe the device (along with any installed eSIMs) once entered anywhere where the device credentials are requested (on the lockscreen, along with any such prompt in the OS).
This is why it is important to read the documentation and understand these features before using them. Otherwise you end up screwing yourself over.
SnapDragon most likely got my duress PIN and Private Space PIN mixed up and now I've mistakenly wiped my phone including all of my crypto, eSIM and authenticator codes trying to access a new feature on this phone that I haven't acclimated to. Also unable to access my emails or discord now because every fucking thing requires a 2FA or MFA!
That's really unfortunate, and I feel for you. Did you not setup offline backups for these important 2FA/MFA/TOTP codes?
SnapDragon This is the fourth time I've lost all my crypto!
Don't take this the wrong way, if it's happened to you four times, something needs to change, and it's within your control to do so, not anyone else.
SnapDragon thanks for thinking ahead Devs! I wish i can return all the monero I donated!!
Not their fault, the only one to blame in these situations is ourselves.
