Helping with translation

Hey guys,
I’ve just started using grapheneos but immediately noticed, that some parts of the os especially in vandium have yet to be translated. So I’ve wanted to ask if there’s a way to help with translating things from English to German?

Not yet but it's on our to-do list. German will probably be the first language we add. Thank you for the offer!

Is it foreseeable when you’ll start?

horde Translations in general. And yes eventually other languages too, we will just start small. We want dedicated teams per language that are capable of translating strings quickly and consistently (and accurately of course!). We don't see the typical crowd sourced approach work for us, once a language is added we have to be able to support it fully moving forward, without it really impacting release schedules. Most importantly we want to avoid malicious translations.

spring-onion Amazing news, this will definitely help GrapheneOS grow to wider audience. How can I join a team for a specific locale? I have a lot of experience with translating various FOSS apps/OSes (Linux DEs & distros).

I remember seeing in the Matrix channels, when they were bridged to Discord, that @Carlos-Anso was who people were referred to. Not sure if that is still the case. :)
