Talk Me Out Of Resetting My Phone

Hi,
I'm still in the process of switching from my early and (t)rusty OnePlus One (sic!) phone to GOS on a Pixel 9a.
So far I experimented a lot with settings, profiles, Private Spaces, parameters, installing applications, removing them, multiple VMs, network stuff ... you name it.

Admittedly, I lost track. Really. And I didn't write down all the changes I did.
So my impuls was I'd start over, from a clean slate. Reset the phone.
Also, there's some concern some software might not be removed cleanly, or other hiccups.

Then again, it's a lot of work, doing it properly again.
What's your position on this?

when you are at the beginning it may seem hard gradually when you become familiar with it it will take very less time.

from next time onwards learn about secondary profiles and do all your learning experiments there even if you change tons of settings, install applications and lost track you can just delete the specific profile instead of resetting the phone

Why not keep it simple at first? Get used to the basics first, while you do some thinking about your threat model and specific goals. A complex set-up with multiple users is not necessarily the 'proper' way to use GOS.

You have found out why security/privacy has to be kept simple, because your set up is so complicated and hard to replicate you don't want to reset, would that apply if it were compromised. If the set up is simple you can reset your phone and be up and running quickly.
I factory reset my phone regularly and at every download of a new updated GrapheneOS.
Twenty minutes max, from initiating the reset to calling a contact.
