Xtrakt ooh dang. Sounds like Google's out for age verification. 😔 Sorry, someone else will have to answer this, as I don't use Google Play store at all, so I wouldn't know. I know that Session is available on F Droid though, and possibly GitHub.

Xtrakt I am not saying you are up to no good but if you value your privacy, use Aurora. Although, considering you want to use privacy invasive mess you mentioned above and thus directly undermine it, even that is not going to help you. You need a complete overhaul how you interact with the world, yesterday was late. Get help from people who understand this, there is a lot to worry about. Use privacy respecting (foss) services, trouble is waiting around the next corner.

Xtrakt no problem. I always like helping out. :) Do you mean that if you install apps from Google Play, will you get notifications from the apps? Yes, if Google Play & Play Services are installed, you will get push notifications from apps. I'm not 100% sure, since I don't use the Play Store, but I believe you may get notifications to update apps too.

There should be a default app called "App Store" on your phone with an icon that looks like a black and white 3d cube. Open that, and you should see the option to install Google Play Services.

After you've installed Google Play Services, I recommend installing apps through Aurora Store, as doing so doesn't require you to link your device profile to a Google account (which is better for privacy).

If apps still crash upon opening, open Settings, then click the tab that says "Apps". Once you've done that, select the app you're having issues with through the interface, then scroll down and enable "Compatibility mode" under the "Exploit Protection" subheading.

Note: If you want to improve your online privacy and security, I'd recommend switching email providers to one that's more privacy respecting, like Tuta or Proton.

I'd also like to note that just because police can't access your phone, it doesn't mean that they can't find information through other means, such as social media.

This is not true. I saw it in one of the many posts of project account any app can create many variables based on different values, system configuration, you name it based on which they can track you (via Play services). They don't need your Google account to uniquely identify your device.

My recommendation from privacy standpoint is not using Play services. I know it doesn't align with expectations of many (from security perspective) and many expect notifications working flawlessly, but there are more privacy respecting apps that can provide this.

I also recommend people not talk about something they don't fully understand.

EverettHitch I mean, I thought that it was clear that this user requires Google services to use the apps need. They could use a seperate profile, but that's up to them.

Also, about the Google services part, I was misinformed. That's my bad. However, I don't feel as if my advice is entirely innacurate though. A Google account being tied to a phone will tie the phone to that account.
