So I got an older Pixel 6a to try out GOS before fully migrating my daily driver, 9 Pro. I've been messing around with it and have a couple of questions:
I have apps that I bought and the licenses are tied to my Google account. There's no option to buy them from Aurora as I think they only get purchased via the Play Store using your account (or iOS store for that matter). I downloaded the Play Store on GOS and downloaded these apps and found that my license was transferred there. In the process, when I logged in to my google account, I was prompted to download other apps that are currently on my 9 Pro as it's still running stock Android.
So my question is, wouldn't it be easy to just download the Play Store, get the apps and backups (for WhatsApp for example, I know there's a manual way to get the backup once you move to GOS, but doing it from the PS is automatic and much faster) and then remove the Play Store? That way I would have fetched my apps and backups, and the same time, no Play Store on my device!
My second question is: I saw a video on GOS talking about private spaces and user profiles and they sounded similar. What's the use case for a user profile as opposed to private space? As far as I know, on GOS, the private space is sandboxed and does not interact with apps outside, it does sound a lot like user profile at this point minus the hassle. I am just wondering what I am missing here as I was gonna create another user profile to access my gmail occasionally.
Thanks a lot in advance!
