Access to Proton Drive storage from other Apps

Hello,

I'm a fresh GOS user that just started the journey. Please excuse me in advance if my question looks naive :)

As far as I can see, any Apps of my profile can access the Proton Drive data. Proton Drive is listed in the "Files" application where I can browse the content. From the Wireguard app, I can import a config file from a proton drive folder, etc. I never received any "Permission requests" to allow it.

Is that normal ? Is it a Proton choice maybe to use some shared storage area ?

I was hoping to prevent random apps to get access to my files. Can I prevent this ?

DayWorker What you're seeing is an Android API that lets you choose a specific file for the app to access, without requiring permissions. https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage/shared/documents-files

So if I understand correctly, None of my Apps actually have access. They just open a file picker, and because I'm involved, I can browse to the file I want and give it to the App ? It's like magic..
