pizzadequeso GrapheneOS I think it has said that it will continue to support the Pixels, at least the current models, so you shouldn't have any problems. I bought a Pixel 10 Pro Fold this week and I will continue with it, unless GrapheneOS cancels support for it, which I doubt...

pizzadequeso Same. Bought my P10 Pro just over a month ago and loving it.

I'm 99% sure we won't regret it. The Pixel 10 lineup are still high end phones on the same level of quality as iPhone and Samsung. GOS said "major" OEM manufacturer, but I mean...a manufacturer willing to collaborate with GOS to this degree can't be THAT big. But ig it's also what you prioritize. The actual phones from the new OEM manufacturer may not be as powerful under the hood as Pixels, but they may be way better tailored to GOS. The team has repeatedly described their collaboration as simply working for the manufacturer's phones to meet a strict set of requirements (i assume for security and privacy) that make them eligible for GOS' seal of approval. Like hypothetically, if they announce that the phone has some special hardening baked into the hardware, or that they singlehandedly made a secure and degoogled alternative to Play Store and Play Services, then I wouldn't regret buying the Pixel...but I'd probably start saving up lol.

That's great news. So if no problems arise, next year in 2027 the phones will be released.

I wonder what price range(s) they will offer. However, it is fantastic not to be dependent on Pixel Phones anymore, and hopefully the OEM will have enough sales to continue the partnership.

Announcing the partnership is a good thing, but I suspect the current chip/memory situation might have a marked impact on any release timeline and pricing, and that having bought a phone before the current moment will probably feel fine unless there's some major shift in those things.

Cellebrite will always be a concern regardless if it's documented or not. I want out of the Google ecosystem and this is a step forward towards that goal.

bendsymbol Motorola is quite big. The phone in pure specs should be much more powerful than a Pixel 10 Pro. It's too much resources to make a solid alternative to the play store. On fairphone shop, you can buy the fairphone 6 with it's own android OS certified by Google or with /e/OS already installed.

grayway2 I suppose a phone releasing over a year later would have better specs than the Pixel 10 Pro. But also, how sure are we that it's Motorola? I've heard many talking about them being the manufacturer as if it were basically confirmed lol

There will be at least one supported flagship device but once we have one we should be able to add the other flagship variants too. Supporting lower end devices would be longer term since they're not likely to meet the requirements for a while.

I'm not sure if the base Pixel (not A-series or Pro) counts as flagship but it could be around $700
