Alarm issue

I keep being late for work because I wake up with my alarm not ringing my phone reboots within one hour do I just need to make that longer the phone reboot?

I wake up all my alarms missed I am using thr default clock app aswell

You set your auto-reboot time to 1 hour, so your phone will reboot into BFU state whenever you don't unlock for 1h. In BFU your alarms will not work - so if you want to use your phone's alarm, you need to change the auto-reboot time to a value that is longer than your sleep time, like e.g. 12 hours.

The alarm will work in BFU state, I have had experience of this. However, it will not use your regular alarm sound but a low frequency beep, not too loud. I guess it's possible to sleep through this tone. Try an experiment when awake. Set your alarm for a short duration and reboot into BFU manually. You may perhaps be able to increase the volume. I have found the BFU alarm sufficient to wake me up but, as I say, it's quite quiet

Edit: I just had a scroll through all the default sounds and I think the BFU alarm tone is called Castor and is found in the "Notifications' list of sounds rather than in the 'Alarms' list. I don't know why?

I can confirm what MotherShipton and DeletedUser639 already stated:

I have tried several alarm sounds and can confirm that the standard sounds work in BFU - also with vibrate toggled on.

However Clock> 3 dots> Gradually increase volume activated caused some issues with other than the default alarm sound: The alarm seems to go off - you see the blue clock screen - but you can hear no alarm sound or only a very quiet one not increasing its volume.

I briefly tested it and the issue is still present on build 2026021201.

I did some testing and found that if you use the 'gradual volume increase' for the alarm, it will sound silently in BFU state. Turning that setting off allowed the alarm in BFU state to be sufficiently loud.

my phone is set to auto reboot after 10 minutes.
Owner is the only profile used.
GrapheneOS provided clock app
GrapheneOS provided alarm sound used. (BeepBeep)
Never has my current phone, nor my previous phone failed to sound the alarm when required.

Can't wait until I've got more Pixels. Really going testing stuff like this faster. I mean, manual fuzz BFU alarms on the only GrapheneOS device in the household? A slooow process.. 😟

I think this may be the key. Many here fall for sophisticated profile setups without understanding of all the accompanying surprises.

Turning that setting off allowed the alarm in BFU state to be sufficiently loud. Note that it does not use your selected alarm tone if you've changed it from default.

My solution was to set the reboot timer to be longer than I sleep. I know that may not be palatable to everyone but it is a solution.

Murcielago Interesting. I use an mp3 music track for my daily alarm. I realized that this was unavailable due to being encrypted at BFU. I assumed the default alarm tone I got was just one of the few system things that live outside the encryption. I did not try other sounds and now I wonder why it defaulted to a sound from the notification list rather than one from the alarm list.

I had in mind it did not work when I had physical SIM that was PIN protected. I am not 100% sure. It definitely works with eSIM

Oh yes. BFU Alarms do not work for secondary profiles afaik.

It would be interesting to know whether this is a system limitation or just the way the clock app is programmed.
