Feature request. Tamper alarm.

Built in ability to set a tamper alarm that will sound if phone is picked up by someone without disarming beforehand by logging in... There's an app that functions similarly on fdroid but I'd like this tamper/theft prevention feature as a built in feature (no hate to the developers of the app). Most of us probably wouldn't leave our phone laying around or charging in the presence of folks we don't trust, but sometimes trust is extended to those unworthy of it. At worst thus could embarrass a friend. At best it could prevent theft or SIM tampering or worse.

theyycmonk being closer to the end of my life than the beginning of it, it was ending up in hospital that was the scenario I had in mind when I posted my feature request. You have ZERO control over your environment in such a scenario unless you are filthy rich and have 24/7/365 bodyguard protection. People can come and go at will while you sleep, you cant prevent it.

I worked in hospital for years after I released from CAF (I was an army medic in my 20's) and people steal stuff from patients all the time. Stuff gets picked up and moved, misplaced, lost... Crazy environment. The feature I requested could make a very big difference in someone's life.

You're going to fall asleep. You might be sedated. You cannot have perfect OPSEC in hospital.

Is there anything that can't be done via the app and therefore needs system integration?
It would also be helpful if you provided a link to the app so people can get more information on the implementation

Imagine ending up in a hospital room, medicated and needing sleep... What'll you do? Remain hyper-vigilant and immaculately flawless in your pursuit of perfect OPSEC, or be human and fall asleep? You have no control in such an environment.

chzrnr reminder that "virus scanning" apps on Android are all snake oil. All apps are subject to strong sandboxing, including "spyware scanners". If you think your device is compromised immediately check the boot hash and re-verify with the Attestation app. Reset the device if you think it's compromised.

The sake oil you recommend is proprietary, includes Google usage reporting, and likely upload your files to their servers similar to Microsoft's Windows Security.

I have no idea why you would suggest this over OP's chosen unnamed app on F-Droid.

As long as you have any charging USB to connect your device to, this will sound the alarm if disconnected, not stop until your screenlock method is provided.
It will even keep the alarm volume high if someone tries to lower it.
