Hello: Im dealing with making purchases of apps on Google Play Store for the first time, and Im on a Pixel9 GrapheneOS, and Id like to make the purchase as anonymous as possible. Doing searches for the most recent info on how to do this, I find contradictory info regarding doing this in the USA, especially with the use of Virtual Cards, which I slightly favor. Some google info says yes on Virtual cards, but youve got to give all your identifying bank info, and on another google page it says no Virtual cards allowed. Ive seen something like that for using gift cards as well(?)! On Privacy.com, they say their cards work with google (didnt specifically mention Play Store), and that google only gets last 4 numbers of card and redacted phone number and email. Id like to kno if anybody knows from experience if, recently, virtual cards work in the playstore, if so which ones, and what level of anonymity is possible? BTW, Ive got a new google account to do this with, created on a laptop with a Brave private browser window & VPN, using my Graphene phone with vpn as the hotspot providing cellular internet. A friends iPhone who has never touched my home ip received the confirmation text during account signup. So, any experience and recommendations on how to do the (close to)anonymous app purchases in Google Play Store? Thanks-

Can you buy Play Store gift vouchers, eg with cash, instead of adding a card? That's what I've always done for iOS. No experience of doing it for Play. It also means the amount of credit accessible to your account is strictly limited.

Foggy Well I dont kno, thats why Im asking. But apparently, there is Play Store Cards available locally for me at brick/mortar stores. I just wanted to confirm that this still works to buy apps anonymously, as searches on line somewhere had both advice and some google page that said a bank account or a name and address must be attached. Thats why Im askin for someone who has experience with this. Im sure its a no brainer for someone who done this recently, but I wanted confirmation for which method works lately because each method is a time investment/suck, and some would be more Private than others. if it is similar to account creation, which appears to be random when a phone number is required and when not, i guess the its easiest to just buy a giftcard and try it out.
If it works, it is the most anoymous way possible.
if not, you can still gift it someone else i guess..

there could be age verification tho ofc
