Directly coming to point :
I have a harddisk Western Digital 320GB , i format the 320GB hdd into ntfs. And then thought i want to use as external drive then again formated it into exfat.
At this point it was working properly every thing was fine. Ejected the hdd and plug the hdd into the android tv a popup came to format it again to make supportable fot android tv.
There were threeoptions :
• set up as device storage (1)
• set up as removeable (2)
• eject (3)
I formated it to (1) then after sometime 4-5mins later format completed. Then try to Opening the drive from file manager (to transfer videos to watch) it's not opening telling select the folder. (Just like that sometimes show in phones use this folder).
After opening closing file manager refreshing nothing happend then ejected the hdd.
After all this took my phone and connected the hdd with type c (using otg). Popup came on phones usb detected please format to use (don't remember exactly but i was telling to format).
Formated the hdd from phone format was going on and hear that no sound is coming of disk spinning. (From here the main problem comes in)
Ejected the drive and plugged it in pc and disk not showing in file explorer. Then went to disk management there it shows 'disk 1' is 2048GB. How is this possible my disk is of 320GB and i don't have any 2048GB of hdd/ssd or anything.
In disk management disk 1 showing unallocated right clicked on it to make it a new partition everything was greyed out except properties and help menu. Showing the error cyclic redundancy check error on external hard drive
Used diskpart in cmd nothing happened watched video online used sfc /scannow and many more. Nothing is happenning same error showing cyclic redundancy check error on external hard drive. and one more thing want to mention that the disk inside not spinning (not seen by eyes but no sound of spinning is coming) and my hdd is named in scanhdd software as Mass storage device.
If anyone can tell what to do......
