Hello peoples. I ask for your kind help in solving this issue.
I have switched phones recently - I replaced my Pixel 8 Pro with a different phone of exactly the same model down to the colour. The problem is however - no matter the hours of troubleshooting (reinstalling the eSIM, installing a differens one, disabling and re-enabling eSIM support, resetting network etc.) nothing seems to change be it a physical SIM or the eSIM.
Now, this may seem to general to help, but here is when the weird part comes - when I disable automatic network picking and try to choose a network the phone can detect them all - it just can't pick and it can also detect the carrier settings. Furthermore, when I turn Wi-Fi on, definetly with the eSIM (and maybe with the physical one, I apologise as I forgot) the phone is able to read out the phone number and even claims to be capable of doing Wi-Fi calls (which I haven't had the opportunity to test out as of yet).
My last available clue is that when I installed graphene (and maybe beforehand - sadly no way to confirm) there was a weird "Play" eSIM - it was weird because the phone came fresh factory reset from a resell store (CEX which is quite reputable). I tried to activate it and it didn't seem to work after which I proceeded to delete it. Perhaps my phone or the network is confused as to the exact eSIM used - unfortunately I do not have nearly enough expertise to reach the conclusion.
Please do point me in the direction of how I could potentially diagnose the problem. Thank you.
