Govee app in Graphene, odd behavior

Hi there, everyone,

When I load the Govee app, two of the house items show with controls properly then the rest state "Downloading" which eventually turns to "Download" that you can click and start the process again.

Which seems like it's blocking maybe bluetooth? I'm not sure. I've enabled all permissions for the app but can't get it to properly talk to these devices. Looking at my bluetooth device connection option, all the govee devices show up in the list, even the ones the app can't proplery connect to.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this? Is anyone using the app that can share a trick to getting it working?

I have the exact same problem.
This reddit thread suggests to me it has something to do with the fact that we use Google Play in sandboxed mode. https://www.reddit.com/r/Govee/comments/1ihs1w3/stuck_on_downloading/

Govee thankfully offers a direct download. From your device (or a spoofed useragent anywhere): https://app-h5.govee.com/common/app-download. Then choose Download, not Download on Google Play. Location access is a hard requirement, so spin up your favorite mock / fake location app like Fake Traveler on F-Droid.

Govee's desktop app for Windows (unsure about MAC or Linux): https://desktop.govee.com/
API integrations like this one for Home Assistant. Some devices can even be set to local-only (no Govee cloud in the loop). https://github.com/disforw/goveelife
