Lockscreen shortcuts

I constantly need my flashlight & camera when working on my vehicle and sometimes at work, so I have placed them conveniently on the lockscreen as shortcuts. The only problem is, I have to press and hold them for them to work. Why aren't they just tap? I'm constantly tapping them, because in my mind thats how they should work. This really, really annoys me! Why can't they be tap instead of hold? And yes, I'm sure this is the same in AOSP and stock Android, but honestly. This is so annoying. How many of you think these should be tap and not press and hold?

pockets and bags often interact with phones so they could tap your flashlight button on and kill your battery.

Shouldn't be too long until you remember it's a tap + hold.

This has the option to fire the flashlight by the volume keys. It even let you set a fine tuned brightness level to be used when triggered. Although it rely on accessibility.

As for the camera:
Settings > System > Gestures > Double-press power button > Use double press
Select 'Camera'
This will work without unlocking.

nandohyphen1 I'll admit I did get a bit confused the first time, but at least I get a helpful toast telling me to touch and hold. The reasons for the particular design choice are pretty obvious. As far as I'm aware the behaviour is the same on iOS. It's not too inconvenient, although I'd be happy with the swiping required by older versions of Samsung's One UI (I can assure you the current behaviour is far worse than anything else available).

As a person who ended their session way too many times when reaching into my pocket to answer a call (and subsequently missing it as a consequence), I do not think activating the shortcuts with a single tap would be a good idea.

userofgos strange. Wish it was for me, lol. I doubt it would trigger in my pocket because I don't have wake screen when phone movement detected (or whatever that feature is called) turned on.

Thanks for reporting. Maybe I should stop testing this on every lockscreen now.🙄
