nandohyphen1 I'll admit I did get a bit confused the first time, but at least I get a helpful toast telling me to touch and hold. The reasons for the particular design choice are pretty obvious. As far as I'm aware the behaviour is the same on iOS. It's not too inconvenient, although I'd be happy with the swiping required by older versions of Samsung's One UI (I can assure you the current behaviour is far worse than anything else available).
As a person who ended their session way too many times when reaching into my pocket to answer a call (and subsequently missing it as a consequence), I do not think activating the shortcuts with a single tap would be a good idea.
