AFFECTED APPS: HIK-Connect + Annke Vision + Guarding Vision
Neighbor got a pixel 8 and GOS and was not getting notifications for Guarding Vision security app. I did troubleshooting but could not figure it out. Their previous phone works for getting notifications.
I have Guarding Vision on Pixel 6a GOS working perfectly. Hik-Connect Annke Vision also work perfectly.
I procured a new Pixel 9a and put GOS on it. I also does not get notifications on Hik-Connect, Annke Vision.
Hik-Connect is the ideal way to troubleshoot as if you log in with an account and then go to "ME" "settings gear top right" "notification diagnostics" it will show a big red ! on push service connection.
For troubleshooting:
I have tried on wifi and data, to install from google play store and aurora store. All rights given to store, google play services, and gms compat (they are restricted on 6a).
I've also referenced the instructions in other threads on this subject.
I believe this thread is unique and deserves its own discussion for the fact that there are TWO GOS devices (pixel 8, pixel 9a) that cannot get notifications from these apps. And another GOS device that can (pixel 6a).
Additionally, anyone can install the HIK-Connect app and immediately troubleshoot notification status in the setting. But only after making an account.
