Proton mail notifications

Hello

Am I the only one who stopped getting mail notifications?
Only when I tap the app, all of them floats in.
Addressed proton help, but as always, they know nothing.
So maybe it is my side problem?
Restarted / reinstalled multiple times. Notifications enabled.

Vsratoslav do you use Google Play services? Are they set up correctly to allow notifications from third party apps? Even if you don't use those, there is an app that allows you receiving them

Vsratoslav it should work. Hard to say without having a proper look at your device as to what may be the cause. In the meantime you can use the workaround I suggested.

EverettHitch first I want to figure out wtf is wrong with this. Because I've just installed 2 versions earlier one, and problem still exists.
Everything is set up jus like a week ago. All needed permits granted. All needed settings applied. And still it's f'd up. 😤

Vsratoslav usually is best to go down the path of least resistance. I currently don't use Play services, use the aforementioned app and with a few hiccups here and there notifications work fairly well (usually a few minutes late). And that is all I need. Good luck figuring out what is wrong in your case.

EverettHitch I don't need the separate notifications app, thanks. I use playservices for pushes and am receiving all notifications from other apps. This narrows to either proton itself, either something changed in os after recent update.

Do you use ProtonVPN as well?
I've noticed that sometimes, if I disable ProtonVPN a large amount of notifications will start pouring in - ProtonMail, Roomba, bank, etc.

Vsratoslav Its always the vpn and private DNS causing these issues, if you have private DNS enabled, turn it to off and change the server in vpn.

W1zardK1ng the dns is from default proton pool, and the servers were changed already few times 🙂

Vsratoslav I used to have the same issue with windscribe VPN, now instead of their official app I use WG Tunnel with windscribe config. No delay in notifications after that.

Maybe you can split tunnel it and confirm if it's a VPN issue.

Shouldn't in this case notifications from other apps fail also? There was no mention of that.
