Too good to go

Magic

Hi, I've been using this app on Graphene OS for the last year without any problems. But now it's telling me that the app uses the Play Integrity API. On my Pixel 5 with Graphene OS, it works perfectly. Can anyone tell me what's happening?

That just means the app checked to see if the phone is rooted, tampered, a virtual machine, the OS is on the list of google approved Operating Systems.

Different apps will check more or less things.

The app could decide to work, not work, or disable certain features after doing this.

Not able to download this app from play store, it says device isn't compatible with this version. Any workaround for this?? Netflix had this issue before but now its available to download.

Downloaded from aurora store it's working fine, even without play services.

GrapheneOS

Magic GrapheneOS added support for notifying users when apps use the Play Integrity API since it's commonly used to ban non-Google-certified operating systems. An app using it doesn't mean they choose to ban those operating systems from their service. You can hide the notice after it serves the purpose of informing you. It's an indication the app may start banning using alternative operating systems in the future, but the app developers could be convinced to permit GrapheneOS even if they insist on checking devices this way since it can be verified via hardware attestation alongside checking other devices with the Play Integrity API.

Same for me. I assume it's not due to region because they show New York in their screenshots. You could try the Aurora store or websites with apk files to download. Keep in mind, these could possibly be altered.

The app devs probably don't allow GOS to install the app.

they show New York

Strange they show 9.50 USD$ in the screenshots.
(I understand this is the norm in certain parts of the world excluding the majority of people in New York walking to a store.)

No, its just a screenshot of the app, it works fine in my area after installing from aurora. Only issue is somehow its blocking the install from playstore and if the app start checking the installation source and block using the app if its installed outside of playstore like some apps do, then we hit a brick wall.

Johnnyloans

W1zardK1ng if the app start checking the installation source and block using the app if its installed outside of playstore like some apps do, then we hit a brick wall.

That won't happen. This issue was addressed in 2026060600.

replace implementation of using Play Store source stamps as a substitute for Play Store installer checks included as part of Play Store anti-tampering protection enabled by certain apps (this prevents using the apps when combined with the Play Integrity API store lising toggles)
