With the experimental desktop mode taking shape in upstream AOSP and hopefully around the corner with Android 17, and alongside some fascinating progress with desktop OS virtualization, I've grown quite eager that, in the near future, we will be able to begin to transfer a very great deal of desktop workflows away from insecure desktop hardware/firmware/software and leverage the many benefits we've come to know and love about GrapheneOS beyond the typical activities associated with our small form factor phones. I'll go out on a limb to say that these developments are currently shaping the future of secure personal computing. It's an exciting time to be a grateful fan and user of the fruits of the Graphene team's labors.
That being said, the market of USB-C hubs and docks seems to be geared mostly towards PCs/laptops or phones with Samsung DeX, and the inconsistent manufacturer/vendor sites are quite painful to dig through to find out which models support the DisplayPort Alt Mode output of Pixels 8 and above. How have those with the means to try out AOSP/GOS desktop mode fared with any particular hub/dock models that are out there? How was your performance with regard to metrics like resolution, refresh rate, input latency, etc.? I suppose this thread could serve as a sort of tracker for individual models if it gets enough input.
