Is it worth installing GrapheneOS on a used Google Pixel 9 Pro XL?

Since I've activated and used my KYC SIM with the Pixel 9 Pro XL with the stock OS, will my privacy and security be compromised even if I install GrapheneOS? The IMEI and IMSI are still the same. Is GrapheneOS only worth installing on a brand new device? Please help me understand this and how to best move forward.

GrapheneOS is always worth installing in order to regain some digital privacy. Probably in your use case you won't be totally anonymous. But why would you be willing to be anonymous ? Are you a whistleblower or a Iranian journalist ? If not, go on and install GrapheneOS and you will immediately see the benefits.

As long as your threat model doesn't require you have these device identifiers be anonymous, then it's completely fine. You will still see immediate improvements in your data privacy as a whole by switching. Even if you didn't play with any of the privacy toggles/options, the base design of the OS, and how it plays with Google Services, is infinitely better than standard Android OSes from a privacy perspective.

I literally bought my phone on eBay and stuck my KYC sim in it. I'm not worried about it personally, but I'm also a normie with no special threat model.
