Just installed this update on my Pixel 6, and I could not get the Cross-SIM/ Backup calling function to work. I am from India. I use a Physical Jio SIM for Calling, SMS and 4G/LTE Data. I also have a US SIM (Tello) with Wi-Fi calling which works over typical Wi-Fi networks for my remote work/ digital nomad work but Tello is still not using Jio's Data Plan for Cross-SIM/ Backup Call and stays in emergency calls without any Wi-Fi network. I always keep Tello to manually switch the operator to an invalid one to avoid trying to connect to a network in India to save battery. Any suggestion as what may be wrong? I used the override options but still Tello stays on emergency calling under Jio Data.

Yes it works for me with data SIM in roaming. I tested it by first selecting an forbidden network for the primary SIM. Then I activated the second data SIM and selected it for mobile data. I selected the first SIM for calls and texts.

I noticed that if you select only the primary SIM (without a network) for calls, texts, and mobile data, but activate the second SIM with auto data switch enabled, the network switches to the data SIM, but backup calling isn't activated. Even when you then select the data SIM for mobile data again, backup calling still doesn't activate; it only works after disabling and then re-enabling auto data switch.

Last evening I installed the update on my P9A without problems.

I think I've found a regression bug: I have battery charging limited to 80% and after the night charging the battery is at 100%.

Also, my build number is 2026020601, shouldn't it be 2026020600?

The 01 at the end tells you that you are on the security update firmware channel. That is the same OS like the normal 00 release, but with added security updates that get included in the 00 release on a later date.

Has something to do with Google, they implement security updates with a delay, for unknown reasons.

The 80% battery charging occasionally charges up to 100% every once in a while.

You need to look if charges to 80% again on the next charging attempt.

If so, that was just a normal behavior of the feature and not a bug.

When it charges to 100% wait for the shield icon to show beside the battery icon which indicates the recalibration is finished and now USB-Power pass through is enabled (no longer powered by battery until you unplug the phone).

Normally you would activate the Primary SIM only for Calls and SMS and the data SIM for Mobile Data directly and then backup calling works immediately so it is totally practicable.

Yes. If you configure the SIMs that way and bounce the automatic data switching Backup Calling will be enabled. That's reliable.

Newbie user here, just updated my 8a and everything working fine for me.
I would like to echo the sentiments and thanks to the absolutely fantastic work by the GOS team as well. Keep up the great work guys, and don't let the negative postings get in your heads.

Locally, mine too. The workaround for that is to introduce a service fault yourself in the SIM settings for your primary voice SIM. Manually select a forbidden network or select a preferred network type that your carrier can't handle.

Device repeatedly switches to "5G or LTE only"
I keep setting it to "LTE only" but t repeatedly switches back on its own.
I haven't been able to pinpoint anything that would trigger it (when receiving calls, after reboot, when on the move, etc.).
Seems to be completely random on my end.

ErnestThornhill Does this only show if GPlay Services are installed? I've never had them installed but recently installed them in a different profile, so even if it has to do with GPlay Services, it's strange its showing in my Owner Profile since GPlay is in a different profile.
